Chaos of the Galaxy / Happy Man by Sparklehorse

Man, I missed a lot in the eighties.
I really like this album. This is one of many songs I could have posted. With the exception of a couple songs the Beck hand is light on the rudder.
This is from my favorite “album” of his even though it was a collection of singles. He died last week and that is a damn shame.
This is the first and best song from her record. She has a hard time ever catching up to this one, but the bar is set pretty high.

The new Flaming Lips album is really, really good. This song has more readily accessible pop hooks than many of the other songs on the album which take several listens to really penetrate. Expect to hear a lot of driving bass grooves full of malice with psychedelic noise outbursts and sneaky, creeping vocal hooks.

I have been a fan of the Handsome Family for years, but never got their 1997 album “Through the Trees” until this past weekend. It is pretty easily their best and this song just kills me. Between the aching, dripping chord progression and the amazing production, this may be their high water mark. Can anyone identify the harmony singer without Wiki-cheating?
